Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of 16 multi-slice helical CT angiography(CTC)in colo-rectal carcinoma.Material and Methods:35 patients with histological proven colon or rectal carcinoma were included in this study.32 patients of them were examined by barium enema(EB),all of them were examined by MS-CTC in pre-operation.The preoperative staging of Duke’s were used based on the findings of MS-CTC.The results of MS-CTC were compared with those of surgical and pathological examination in all patients.Result: Among 32 patients were examined by EB,the diagnostic sensitivity of BE was 97.5%,and the accuracy was 84.4%.Among 35 patients were examined by MS-CTC,the diagnostic sensitivity of MS-CTC was 100%,and the accuracy was 91.4%.Thirty cases were correctly staged with Duke’s,the accuracy was 85.7%.Conclusion:BE can be considered as a primary approach for diagnosing colorectal carcinoma.MS-CTC examination can provide miscellaneous diagnostic information and can be of great value in diagnosing and preoperative staging of the colorectal carcinoma.
