  • Recent research is mainly focused on cone-beam volume CT which is one of the main developing directions of medical CT and industrial CT. The computer simulation of projection data plays an important role in the algorithm research. An accurate and well-adapted simulation method of projection data for cone-beam CT, which can describe the details of each tomography, is proposed in this paper. On one hand, reliable projection data for reconstruction of cone-beam CT can be acquired through this method. On the other hand, projection data containing some kinds of distortions can also be simulated according to the requirement. The projection data of human brain and industrial specimen are simulated respectively. Based on the data, images are reconstructed by using FBP algorithm. Comparing the reconstructed images with the original ones, we can conclude that the reconstructed results are accurate and the simulation method of projection data is feasible.
