Abstract
Objective: To analyze the characteristics of mediastinoesophgeal fistulas Subsequent Esophageal Carcinoma after radiotherapy on multislice CT(MSCT),and evaluates the diagnostic value of MSCT.Methods: MSCT imaging of 10 patients who suffered with mediastinoesophgeal fistulas secondary to carcinoma of esophagus after radiotherapy were retrospectively studied. The CT scans involved axial computerized tomography and multi-plane reconstruction(MPR) and virtual bronchoscopy made on the workstation. The imaging manifestations were correlated with endoscope fingdings. Results: The CT imaging shows the fistulas successfully, and the mediastinitis were found in all the patents. The appearances of the fistula manifested on the bronchoscopy were consistent to the endoscope findings. Conclusion: MSCT and its virtual bronchoscopy are reliable for showing and assessing the mediastinoesophgeal fistula and its complications, thus afford a reliable imajings evidenced in proceed treatment.
