Abstract:
Bile duct cystadenoma is a rare, benign cystic tumor that occurs mostly in the intrahepatic bile duct and rarely in the extrahepatic bile duct. Herein, we report a case of histopathologically confirmed intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma (IBC) in a 29-year-old female, which, on physical examination, was occupying the liver. Computed tomography (CT) revealed multiple round or round-like cystic tumors in the right posterior lobe of the liver, with intracapsular segregation, uneven thickness of the cystic wall, and small solid or papillary structures in the cystic wall or septum. Enhancement scanning revealed slight enhancement of the cystic wall, segregation, and intracapsular solid structures. We retrospectively analyzed the CT imaging features of this case and reviewed relevant literature to summarize the imaging manifestations of atypical IBC to improve our understanding of the disease.
